Is Not The Problem

A typographic exploration of space-travel.

TYPOGRAPHY, LAYOUT, PRINT DESIGN

A university project in which I explored the space between Earth and Mars, both in physical distance and the issues that plague long-duration spaceflight.

To give the reader a context in which to understand the vastness of space and our place within it, the book as a whole is a representation of our solar system. The Sun starts on the first page and Neptune appears on the final page, with all planets in between shown at their correct distances from The Sun. The aim is to give the reader an understanding of our small place within the universe, the distances we would have to travel to get anywhere else and where Mars is placed within that.

This project awarded me membership of the International Society of Typographic Designers.
